Bio
He was born in 1983 in Pincehely. His love for drawing was evident in his childhood. Encouraged by his family, friends and teachers, he practiced persistently and achieved first success in competitions and exhibitions. At the age of 22, he became more seriously interested in painting. A year later, he applied to the painting department of the University of Fine Arts, and was accepted directly. However, he left school after 2 years, not for professional, but for personal reasons. His love and respect for the fine arts remained. He continued to create, educate himself, and study the techniques of the old masters.
He currently lives and works in Keszthely.
Artist Statement
I usually use photos as the basis of my themes, which I modify and supplement with abstract gestures, imaginary elements, or symbols. For me, motifs that are independent of space and time and monumental are interesting. In this regard, I can express the eternal truths that drive our existence. Instead of the mere appearance, I focus more on the underlying content, the hidden reality. Gioirgio de Chirico’s words convey what I am thinking: „In many cases, the horizon is limited by a wall, behind which the noise of a disappearing train can be heard. The nostalgia of the infinite is expressed in the geometric precision of the space. It is an unforgettable experience when we suddenly become aware of such phenomena of the world view that, although they have always been before us, we have not seen it because of our excessive short-sightedness and the underdevelopment of our senses. Their silent voice speaks very close to us, and yet it seems as if it penetrates towards us from some distant planet”. People often appear in my pictures, but not as portraits, but as objects, in order to depict collective and individual problems, feelings, phenomena and moods. Our age is characterized by the flood of information that overwhelm our minds. That is why I consider it important to tap into emotions with my works. I like to paint large pictures and usually work with traditional oil techniques. In my style, realistic and abstract elements are mixed, which are depicted in a surrealistic space, sometimes finely elaborated, sometimes reduced to a drawing.
